ABOUT THE ARTIST
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Watercolor painting has had so
many influences in my life. Like anything that appeals to your creativity, it truly has given me an appreciation for
all things created. It speaks to the fraility and also the power of life.
You know, I used to think, oh if only I could understand this medium, if only I could master it. And in the beginnings I had
experiences where after having painted "the" painting I sat back and felt satisfied, felt that I HAD arrived. But I'm realizing
now with each new painting, with each new challenge,
the only thing that I'm mastering are my thoughts, my understandings of watercolor. And that each new painting brings a new
challenge, a new lesson to learn. And that the challenge truly is understanding that nothing, NOTHING is mastered, truly nothing
is mastered.
And so I carry on, allowing this watercolor journey to take me where it will. Its been an interesting, and wonderful journey so far. And I'm of the mind that what is beyond that next bend is going to blow my socks off, because what has come before certainly has.

BIOGRAPHY
I am available for commissioned work with some specifications. We all need rules, don't we.
An estimate will be quoted for commissioned paintings and is determined by size and subject matter, and the length of time it takes to accomplish the painting, hense, it IS an estimate. Then a down payment is required which would be approximately half of the total cost of the painting. When the painting is completed it will be sent to you upon receipt of the final payment on the painting. Then, you will be given 1 week to determine if you are pleased with the paintng. If you are not pleased and we cannot correct the problem, you will be returned your money upon my receipt of the returned painting.
Below you will find a form which will be filled out by you and returned to me via e-mail. Just copy and paste into your e-mail....or call me and relay the info over the phone. I WILL need a clear photo of what it is you want painted.

What is the subject matter you wish painted?
Do you have an acceptable picture of this? (Please include a scanned picture if you can)
What size do you want this painting to be? (This will include the painting only OR if you wish the matting and/or frame. Please specify)
Is there a time-frame in which you need this painting done? (Taking into consideration the process will take at least 3 weeks and then allowing for shipping time)
Will you allow artist's license? In other words, will you allow the artist to add or remove elements to better balance the painting...trees added or taken away...bushes, background etc.
If you wish to have one of the original watercolors posted on the site, but wish it in another size, please use this form to order that.
A commissioned painting is a commitment on the artist's part and yours. Upon your approval of the completed process which will be available for your viewing personally if you live in the North Dakota area, or through viewing of painting through e-mail, you will be expected to forward your payment along with the shipping costs to Lavender Dreams in Watercolor. Your painting will then be shipped to you within 7 business days. Thank you!
